  • By hiring a Crate Escape Pet Care as your professional petsitter, you know your pets will be cared for the way you would care for them. We show up when we say we will, keep you updated about our visits, and keep your home looking occupied by turning lights and blinds, bringing in mail and newspapers and handling your trash and recycling if needed. 

  • Crate Escape Pet Care offers daily dog walking and In Home pet sitting for dogs, cats and other small animals.

  • We service Richmond Virginia, Richmond City, Short Pump, Henrico & West End 

  • A meet and greet is the time we take to meet with you and your pet(s). You can see how we interact with your fur babies, show us around, and make sure we are a good fit. We go over instructions and details of you and your pet’s needs. It takes approximately 15 to 30 minutes. The first meet and greet is on us!

  • Yes, we will need 2-3 copies of each key needed to gain access to your home. Keys are marked with a number only and stored in a secure location when not in use. We ask for two keys in case one gets lost or broken. Keys must be tested at meet and greet. Arrangements will be made for the exchange of any key or key fobs for access to buildings or communities, there may be an additional fee for delivery/dropoff service.

  • Fees start at $25 on weekdays and $35 for 30 minutes for up to 2 pets. There is a $5 charge per pet per visit after the first 2 pets. There is a $10 charge per visit for holiday visits. You can decide to add additional time at your midday visit for a fee. There is a $10 per visit fee for weekend visits beginning 6pm Friday through 9pm Sunday.

  • Any visit on a Federal Holiday will incur the holiday fee, along with other high traffic times, for example, Weds-Sun Thanksgiving week, the whole week from Christmas Eve through New Year Day, as well as Memorial Day and Labor Day Weekends.

  • Generally, dogs and cats, however we do watch birds, chickens, rodents, fish, and others. If you aren’t sure, just ask! We love all critters!

  •  Venmo and Stripe, paid prior to the start of service.

  • Unless it is a Holiday Reservation, cancellations outside of 72 hours of first visit will not be charge a penalty.

    • Please also note our holiday cancellation policy – any reservations cancelled within SEVEN DAYS of the start of service will be charged 50% of the reservation. Any holiday appointments cancelled within 72 hours of the start of service will be charged the ENTIRE reservation.

    • Scheduled appointments cancelled within 24 hours of scheduled service charged full amount of appointment
    • scheduled appointments canceled within 72 hours of scheduled service are charged 50% of appointment 
    • For scheduled service with 5 (five) or more appointments scheduled, cancellations within 1 week of the start of service will be charged 50% of original scheduled service. 
    • Last minute appointments are considered requests made within 1 day/24 hours of the time of the requested service and will be charged a $10 fee.

    Please understand that when we schedule your visits, we may have to turn away other work or disrupt our schedule in other ways.

    • excessive changes in last minute scheduling can be charged $10 per change in appointment (ex. move Monday appt to weds then again to the following week, etc,; Each move will incur the charge). Client given a warning if this becomes a problem. 
  • Absolutely! We keep an “open door” policy. Every client will have access to their pets via email. We usually send pictures and updates to clients unless specified otherwise. Our policy is to NOT be on the phone when with a client. We encourage text so we can check on messages without being on the phone. If you choose to leave a voice message or email, we will get back with you promptly.
